Man Emu Nitrocharger Shock Absorber
are not the cheapest on the market,
but they are the best value for money.
Designed for use in the Australian outback for drivers who don't want to worry whether their shock can take it, Old Man Emu (OME) Nitrochargers suit the tarmac highway and byway just as well.
Giving a smoother pitch free ride, sway is reduced but ride comfort is still there. 4 All Fours have a set fitted to their 300 XS Land Rover Discovery and 200 Tdi in Iceland, and the difference is noticed by all who have been in it.
18mm Chromed Shaft, induction hardened with a superfine friction reducing surface to ensure prolonged seal life.
Glacier Bush & Double Lip Seal, teflon impregnated glacier bush allows for a smooth low friction operation and reduced heat build up in the shaft guide.
Nitrogen gas, a low pressure gas system allows for slow speed shaft movement giving a more comfortable ride.
Twin Tube design allows for a greater volume of oil. Contact with rocks and debris does not interfere with the operating components. Much better than mono tube design.
35mm Piston & Bore, the 35mm x 20mm teflon banded piston incorporates the new four stage coil sprung rebound valve, to reduce vehicle bounce.
35mm 7 stage Compression Valve, the hugh 7 stage valve at the Nitrocharger's base is desgined to prevent bottoming-out and improve handling and ride quality.
Steel Stone Guard, provides maximum shaft protection from flying stones and hard knocks. plastic guards just rip off and leave the shaft un-protected.
Supplementary Welds, the mounting ferrule at both ends has additional welds to give added strength.
Old Man EMU Nitrocharger shock absorbers are fitted to the vehicle by the original attachment method, NO need to change mounts. Using Polypropylene bushes to help reduce sudden shock loading at attachment points is just another example of the engineering excellence provided by fitting Old Man Emu Nitrocharger replacement shock absorbers.

For the same range of vehicles and built to the same technical excellence as the Nitrocharger Shock, Old Man Emu Steering Dampers provide for ease of driving.
Almost massive in comparison to standard dampers, they take up little more room but do not hinder ground clearance.
They do not fade and they do not make the steering any heavier. Kick back and wobble are vanished.
No shock absorber, no matter how well made, can compensate for a poorly tracked and aligned steering system, out of balance or damaged wheels or poorly loaded vehicle. At 4 All Fours we will insist that these are rectified, no warranty is given without this condition being met.
Like the OME Nitrocharger range, the Old Man Emu range of Leaf and Coil springs has been designed to withstand the rigours of the Australian outback yet be sophisticated enough for urban and motorway travel. It is an important, obvious, but often neglected fact, that springs hold up the entire vehicle weight (in some cases less axles) but how often do people think and consider this fact when replacing their vehicle's springs? If they did they would never compromise on price. OME have a range of springs for nearly every 4WD vehicle and within each vehicle's range there are several weight or load bearing spring capacities to choose from.
From standard vehicle with no extra weight, to vehicles with heavy Front Bars and winches mounted, to those vehicles that have little front weight but often carry heavy payloads or tow heavy trailers, there is an Old Man Emu spring to suit. Leaf Springs or Coil Springs are catered for in the OME range.
LEAF SPRINGS
Military front wrap, the second leaf coils round the eye to give added protection from knocks and abraison. Loose Clamps, allow for quite but controlled leaf movement. Anti Friction Pads, re-greasable nylon inter-leaf liners reduce friction and provide for better deflection. Draw Tapered & Diamond Cut, reduces inter-leaf friction and improves pressure distribution. Shot Peening, on the tension side of all leaves doubles the springs life. Fully Scagged, subjecting the spring to a greater load than expected in service life, the spring steel has already yielded and adopted it's permanant curvature. Graphite Coated, protects the leaf from corrosion and adds further reduction in friction. Flat Axle Seat Area, provides for a positive safe mount and lowers spring stress, unique to OME springs.COIL SPRINGS
Spring Packers, ensure the vehicle's trim and ride height are adjusted for weight distribution, it also makes the vehicle look good, important to the customer and the fitter. [A twisted chassis, damaged components etc can't be adjusted for.] Variable or Constant Rates, to suit front and rear use, vehicle and customer requirements. Formed on Precision Mandrels, ensures consistant and identical springs to design and test specifications. Shot Peening, reduces the stress and increases the springs life. Fully Scagged, subjecting the spring to a greater load than expected in service life, the spring steel has already yielded and adopted it's permanant curvature. Accurate Heat Treatment, precision contolled so the spring performs as expected. Exact Coil End-Configuaration, ensures a trouble free installation and no stress to mounting points.STRUTS
For Freelander, Vitara, Rav4 Pajero Nissan etc Struts are made to the same exacting standard as the OME Springs and Shocks.
Many of the springs and shock abosrbers can be fitted by the owner or local garage, however an OME fitter will provide you with a 12 month warranty and part of this requires a 500 KM ckeck up. Different vehicles require subtle changes to trim, ride height, anti roll bar setting, choice of bush and spring load. Not an easy option for those without the OME technical manual and only OME distributors and fitters have them. Having stated the above, simple spring and shock replacement, as on the 4 All Fours Discovery, will take about 4 hours to replace all 4 springs and shocks as well as the steering damper.
